Founder, Principal/Partner
David Banta has devoted his entire professional career to providing financial guidance to families, beginning in 1967 at Lester, Ryons & Co. David believes deeply in Thomas Paine’s guiding principle, “Without ownership, there is no freedom.” As a member of our firm’s investment team, he shares responsibility for securities selection and client asset allocations.
A graduate of the University of Redlands, David holds a B.A. in History and an M.A. in Education. He has served on numerous advisory boards, notably the University of Redlands Board of Trustees, where he was Co-Chair of the Investment Committee in 1990-2000. David’s deep concern for the role of ethics education in business inspired him to create and endow the Banta Center for Business, Ethics and Society at the University of Redlands. He continues to be actively involved in this vital educational mission.
David has been married to his junior high sweetheart, Stephanie, for 48 years. He’s the the proud father of three sons and an even prouder grandfather of five grandchildren. While serving families as a wealth advisor remains his passion, he also thoroughly enjoys sailing and spending time on the open ocean.
